Our founder Nick Burden started his in-house recruitment career at the engineering giant INVISTA who are known for their brand Lycra, amongst others.

Nick specialised in global technology recruitment and has since supported industry disruptors Google, King Activision Blizzard and Betfair as well as tech darling Imagination Technologies, the company widely recognised for sparking the smartphone revolution.

Leading tech hiring at King, the creators of the hit game and global phenomenon Candy Crush Saga, through hypergrowth was a defining point in Nick’s career. It was an ambitious challenge due to the extreme demand for skills in low supply, fierce competition and the constant change of priorities as the company rapidly evolved.

It become clear that streamlining recruitment processes, building an employer brand and throwing the candidate net world wide was insufficient for a new breed of tech business. A rethink was needed.

Nick partnered with leading agile coaches, scrum masters and recruiters to explore ways of applying Agile to talent acquisition (a software development philosophy that champions rapid response to change and continuous, adaptive planning). The aim was to build a new talent system for the STEM industries (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) that was simple, fast and effective at hiring and retaining exceptional people. The results were game changing.

Wanting to help more organisations achieve their growth and productivity potential, Nick remodelled his embedded consultancy business and in March 2020 Headnetics was launched.
